Commander's Message

Message from the Commander. I would like to thank District 2 for electing me to be your District 2 Commander. As a Vietnam U. S. Marine Corp combat veteran and as being a member of the VFW since 1969 and Past Commander of VFW Post 6699, I have a good understanding of what the VFW stands for. With a united VFW, we can do a lot to help our fellow veterans. With our numbers decreasing each year, it is a top priority to build up our membership. Along with membership, we have to try harder to get our younger veterans involved! I will be sending out a quarterly newsletter and I will try to update our District 2 web on a regular basis. You are more than welcome to phone, text or email me any questions or concerns you would like to address with me. ( or (201)320-3210 I am thankful that we have a good team of officers at District 2 and very active committee chair people that put in a lot of time and energy throughout the year for District 2 and you. This year we are going to work more closely with the President of our Auxiliary, Jan West and their members. Jan has told me they would love to work together with us this year. There will be a budget and committee meeting on June 26 at 6:30 pm at the Paramus VFW, E.6 Winslow Place, Paramus, N. J. Our next District 2 meeting is on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Hasbrouck Heights Post 4591 at 7:30 p.m. At this meeting we will have Bill Thomson conduct training for all post commanders. Overall, I am positive we can make 2017 – 2018 a very productive year. Paul R. Thompson District 2 Commander BERGEN COUNTY’S LARGEST VETERANS ORGANIZATION...
